Corporation Tax
Annually, alongside the company accounts
The company tax return, prepared and filed.
A tax computation prepared from the accounts, reliefs and allowances checked, and the company tax return filed with HMRC. Payment deadlines are set out at the start of the job so the amount and the date are never a surprise.
What's included
- Company tax return (CT600) prepared and filed
- Tax computation with supporting notes
- Small profits rate and marginal relief checks
- Capital allowances and Annual Investment Allowance
- Loss carry-forward and group relief where relevant
- Director's loans and benefit-in-kind reporting
Good to know
- For profits under £1.5m, tax is usually payable nine months and one day after the accounting period ends.
- The return itself is due twelve months after the end of the accounting period, which is a separate deadline from payment.
Common questions
- Do you prepare the statutory accounts as well?
- Yes. Accounts are prepared to accompany the tax return and filed with Companies House for the same period.
- What about a dormant company?
- A dormant company still needs its return unless HMRC has agreed to strike it off the register. That notification can be made and the position confirmed in writing.
